I fight the darkness
the encroaching fear
they are coming...
coming for my soul.
i'm weakened
and tired
my tears mix with blood
the tormentors crawling
laugh and sharpen their teeth.
i smell my own terror
calling them nearer,
the last rays of light
kiss me farewell
for my battle was long
and dying draws close,
slitted eyes and creeping shadows
whisper of my failures and flaws,
the trys and falls
the tears and screaming,
abandoned now
i'm on my own
while the moon hides her face
the demons come.

Words are like wings
the more you know,
The higher you can fly
