"Please take a seat; And fill out your forms" Said the nurse behind the counter; Another patient; the norm And she is yawning and gazing; And looking at the time Wondering when her shift is over; Closing her eyes, such a crime
And she stares at the lovely lady; through the glass straight ahead She looks normal enough; but somethings not right there instead The police are by her side, they are keeping her close Driving her there; she is mumuring and staring forward at most
And as the nurse types; she sits there and stares Just what is happening; to the lovely lady; the nurse wonders and cares She cannot fill the forms in; the lady is slurring her words The police are not quite right; the police losing their nerves
And the nurse follows what she does; they take a seat In the waiting room; in amongst the other patients, lines so neat The nurse watches her precisely; she is not quite all right She is doing just things unexpected; on that unusual night
With the ER full, the nurse wanders around Completing her tasks; booking other patients in she found And losing track of the lovely lady; she is gone into the rooms She does not know what happened; it all happened to soon
And as the nurses day closes out, comes to a end She goes up to her locker; wanting to find the lady friend And she wanders around; she finds her without a care She sits down as a visitor; and falls to sleep then and there
And after a little while; the patient wakes up Touches the nurse on the shoulder; and asks for a tea cup And the nurse is startled; she did not know just where And quietly she asks the lovely lady; Why is she there?
And the lady informs her; softly at first It's just a memory of my childhood; about to burst And there the lovely lady starts; to tell her the detail Of what this monster paedophile did; in all its curtail
And there the nurse sits; tears running down her face The lovely lady there claims to her; a new memory, of this place For you see I cannot tell; What is true and what is not Everything I imagine is possible; a horror thought triggering the lot
This new memory may be right; or it may be wrong indeed But all I know I am in hospital;so I don't know, I'm just in need And the nurse after listening; For many hours it seemed, Wiping away the horror; From her weeping eyes starting to gleam
And shaking her head, listening to years of abuse How the lovely lady hid, fought, cried, Angered, ran, every excuse And when nurse finally left, after hearing the pain The nurse wandered off; to the cafe booth; for coffee grain
And picking up the phone, she presses the buttons not so mild "Hello dad, she said" "How dare you do that to me as a child" And she started to scream,For she knew she could not hold on The lady had triggered something within her;A major calm to a storm
And the nurse started screaming and screaming; Her face going blank Telling her father in every tone; He was awful and rank The pain came from deep within her;Unknown what to do She just had to get it out; The screams of a soul, lost out there too
For your see, the lovely lady's courage; had given her the strength To progress forward, to go ahead to Move forward at any length And as she hung up the phone; She slammed it across the table top Looking up where she was; the nurse's stomach turned in knots
Everyone was standing, raised to their feet Slowly clapping, For her unbelievable feat But the nurse did not hear it; she was thanking the lord, For delivering the lovely lady; as she is not alone anymore
