Impact

From a distance
We see it coming
We know it has to come
And the world goes searching

We can see it, we can hear it
The telescopes points towards
The icy rock in the sky
The newspapers report, the tv show us

Horrid pictures of what could occur
The blood, the nightmare
They stand with their microphones
Poised ready to debate the words
Governments and their decisions

On OUR lives and what they may do
And what they may say
Stuck, the impact of the rock
The impact of just those words

And then the rock
Misses us by a such a distance
As to be remote, and everyone forgets
Just what the impact is

This is what you have done to my life.

Telling my story outloud. IT IS FRIGHTENING for it could last forever.

Thanking the person who is paid to listen. :-(  just what has society come to?
