Alone Again

How can a memory
Bring such distress
A thought of a flower
A walking mess

And a touch of a thought
That could have been right
Send me into turmoil
Send me into fright

Reaching for a door
Causes such dismay
The nightmare and horror
Remembering that day

And what if I never remember
What if I never know
Those memories keep coming
They won't ever go

And one minute you are sure
You know everything in your life
Are you lying to yourself
Memories giving such strife

And why can't you tell
A secret life still
Fighting against the horror
With all my will

And now the new memories
Play around in my head
I will get no peace
Alone again, silence instead
